Pattern:

Create cups-

Ch 10 +1

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook & all the way down chain. Place 3 sc in last ch and turn around to the opposite side of the chain & place 1 sc in ea space.

Row 2: ch 3 & turn. (ch 3 does not count as first st), dc in first st and all the way down to the top stitch. Place 3 dc in this center stitch and dc down the opposite side.

Row 3: ch 1 & turn. (ch 1 counts as first st), sc in 2nd st and al the way down to the top stitch. Place 3 sc in this center stitch and sc down the opposite side.

Row 4: rep row 3.

Repeat rows 2-4 for the following rows until you have the needed size for your cup.

Crochet along the bottom edge of your cup. Place 1 sc in ea sc row and 2 sc in ea dc row.

Pull yarn through & cut a medium length tail of yarn. [This piece will be used to connect the two cups.]

Create a second cup using the same steps as the first. Keep yarn attached.

Once both cups are complete it is time to attach them together.  Determine the amount of space needed for your cups to fit your measurements.  Depending on the size of your cups as well as your body size, you will either slip stitch both cups together or chain the length needed and slip stitch to join, using the tail cut from the first cup created.  [I chained 2].

Create body of garment-

Back to the yarn attached to your second cup. Create a chain long enough for your body strap.  This strap will reach around to your mid- back and should not go further than this point.  Determine the # you need to chain based on your measurements and dc gauge for your yarn/hook you’re working with. [I chained 15.]

Pull through & cut yarn.

Attach yarn to the corner of the opposite cup to create a symmetrical strap for this side.  Chain the same amount as you did on the other side to create identical straps. [I chained 15.]

Row 1: Ch +3. dc in 4th ch from hook and all the way down, placing 1 dc in ea ch sp & 1 dc in ea st. [ crochet along this chain, across the first cup, along the chain between the cups (if needed), across the next cup, & along the second chain. ]

Row 2: ch 4 & turn. (ch counts as first stitch.) skip second stitch & dc in third st. *ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in next st* rep until last st, placing 1 dc in last st.

Row 3: ch 4 & turn. (ch counts as first stitch.) *dc in dc st from previous row, ch 1, skip 1 st* rep until end of row, placing 1 dc in last st. (ch 4 from previous row)

Rep row 3 for desired length.

Pattern Notes: Adjust the number of chains to your yarn gauge. Adjust the number of rows to crochet your preference in length.  Option to crochet cups in sc, full pattern can be found here.

For the straps I chained double the length for shoulder straps as well as to lace up the back of the top.

I used a string to lace up the front as well.  I think the top looks great with or without these ties.

I really enjoy the look of this simple top. The original picture had beads added to the ties and bottom of the top.  If you have any  questions, feel free to leave them down below!
